Customized solution success: Spend more time analyzing data, less time obtaining it
Peak Advisers works with many outstanding organizations to implement systems specifically designed for their needs that make their businesses operate more efficiently, saving both time and money.
One of those we are proud to work with is Esler Companies. Peak Advisers helped Esler consolidate QuickBooks for multiple companies and move it to a cloud-hosted environment. Peak Advisers partners with GoToMyERP for clients who need hosting solutions.
Michael St. Onge is Esler’s corporate controller and he spent time detailing the project he and Michael Wallace of Peak Advisers completed together.
“Esler Companies is an affiliate of Renewal by Andersen,” St. Onge said. “We are a full-service window and door company operating in four distinct regions: Southern New England, Greater Philadelphia, Colorado and Arizona. We have approximately 1,000 employees and source our windows exclusively from the Andersen company of Minnesota.”
Here is the rest of the Q&A about the successful implementation of this project.
Peak Advisers: What were the project goals?
St. Onge: “Number one, get all of our regions on a consistent, stable platform. Number two, create accessibility of data from any location, and number three, improve speed by condensing the unique databases to a size that was more manageable and stable.”
Peak Advisers: How has moving to hosted QuickBooks helped your business?
St. Onge: “Accessibility of data. Prior to the migration data was fragmented and only available via multiple entry points. Migration eliminated the multiple access points and enabled us to centrally manage all entity transactions, reporting and users.”
Peak Advisers: What are the benefits of this move?
St. Onge: “Stable, consistent information is now available for all entities, at any time, from any location. Prior to the migration, this was simply not possible.”
Peak Advisers: How has this new efficiency impacted Esler in terms of things like time savings, or money savings related to labor or other expenses?
St. Onge: “As with anything else, we now spend much less time obtaining data and much more time analyzing it. The migration has allowed us to largely standardize our chart of accounts. With that standardization, we are now able to clearly compare data and identify outliers with any specific region.”
Peak Advisers: What do you want to do next?
St. Onge: “We would like to begin using a PO process so we can properly receive inventory into the system. I would also like to standardize fixed assets and begin utilizing the functionality available within the system.”
Peak Advisers: Tell us about your experience working with Michael Wallace and Peak Advisers.
St. Onge: “I would absolutely recommend working with Peak Advisers and Michael Wallace. They were able to lay out a comprehensive plan of migration after evaluating our current state and formulate a step-by-step roadmap that we could follow. The plan was constructed in such a way that it could be executed by our Accounting and Finance staff and did not require the use of a dedicated IT support team (which we currently do not have).
We are appreciative of the opportunity to work on this customized solution with Michael St. Onge and Esler Companies.
“Peak’s recommendation to transition to GoToMyERP hosting was an important part of the overall success of the project. Their responsiveness and efficiency have been significantly better than I could have expected, and they have been able to walk us through any transitional issues very effectively,” St. Onge said.
