Here is a little used but very powerful field within QuickBooks – the customer type field.
Often overlooked, this field can add a whole new dimension to your QuickBooks customer data.
You can populate this field with selections that make sense for your business. You don’t have to accept the default selections that QuickBooks provides.

Here is how to access the Customer Type database in QuickBooks. Click:
Lists
then Customer and Vendor Profile Lists
then Customer Type List
Once you begin to use the customer type field, it is a snap to then begin filtering reports (i.e. sales reports) by the customer type categories you have created.
